Newsletter from Sweden,

Dear Friends,

After some time abroad for a holiday trip to Germany, the Netherlands and one month in Spain in Alicante for studies in Spanish, I came home back again to Sweden. Here I found in my e-mail box a lot of very interesting information from different countries.

From ROMANIA:

Nicolae Dumitrascu, the secretary of the Romanian Szondi group wrote me the following:

“This year I published the Romanian translations of the Deri's book and Rorschach's "Psychodiagnostik". They are the first books dedicated to the projective tests in our country. More and more students become interested in Rorschach and Szondi, two projective methods almost unknown in Romania few time ago or malpracticed.

I've started to teach an introductory course in Szondi and Rorschach, and I see how much enthusiasm stir up these fascinating methods. We are considering now the possibility to set up a little research centre and a database with Romanian subjects.

We are looking for some eligible topics of research, but it is difficult enough as we don't have access to much bibliography, so we don't know what has been studied before. We managed to buy from Internet some materials, including M. Legrand's book on Szondi, two books on Rorschach and Zulliger test, but it is too little. We would appreciate if you would give us any suggestion about some topics of research.
I wish you all the best and much health!

I think we all can congratulate Mr. Nicolae Dumitrascu with his impressive contributions in this field. I would also like to point out to all of you who are preparing some kind of research that it might be worthwhile to do so together with the Szondi group in Romania. His e-mail adress is: Nicolae Dumitrascu <szondi@bx.logicnet.ro>

From BRAZIL

From Dra. Juareza Pereira and Mrs. Maria Lucia de C.Accacio

(e-mail: >mldecaccacio@uol.com.br<

I got several important Szondi translations in Portuguese. They were:

“1. Réformulation” by Friedjung Juettner

“2. Origines et difficultés de la dialectique du contact", by Christian Papillou

3. “Paroxisme, révolte et surprise, by Jean Mélon

4. “Le système pulsionnel et le test de Szondi : modèles pour qui ? by Nicolas Duruz

These files you will find on the Forum, Latin section

Also I got the good news that one of the Brazilian Szondi specialists: Ida Maria Schivitz, (Brasil, Rio Grande do Sul) had opened her own Home site with an extensive Szondi section. Her Site adress is:

From the Szondi specialist in Child psychology Dr. Dr. Hans Jörg- Ringger, (47, Rte de Presunge 1241 Pulinge Suisse) I got a very encouraging letter that made me very happy. He wrote me the following details about his present work and future plans:

Quotation:

“My book (in German) about the treatment of four eight years old children, and with the the results of the Szonditests of both the children and their parents will be published at the end of this autumn with the title:

“Materialen zu einer schicksalspsychologischen Entwickelungslehre”- (Materials for a fate analytical theory about development).

Another publication will be ready next year. It will have the title:

“Der Szonditest mit Kindern und Jugendlichen”. Eine Einführing in die Schicksalspsychologische Entwickelungslehre”. (The Szondi test with children and adolescents, an introduction in the fate analytical theory of development”).

This will be ready next year. In a supplement, of about 30 - 40 pages, the evaluation and interpretation of the test with children and adolescents will be described. This supplement will moreover give information about the average values of the different age groups. (Very probably this publication will be translated in English).-

Dr. Ringer writes furthermore that:

- I will “have to” write another publication. This will be the 5th one of the publications I had planned to write for my students during the 25 years period when I worked as a teacher.

It will have the title:

“Teorie von den tiefenpsychologischen Erkrankungsgefährdungen bei Kindern und Jugendlichen”, von deren Verhalten, Phantasien, Spielen her gesehen.

(“Theory about the potential fate analytical risks for illness in children and adolescents”, as seen from their behaviour, fantasies and way of playing)

The aim of this book is to show to child- and adolescent psychotherapists that SzondiÒs way of thinking is not limited to “psychiatric categories”, but that one instead may speak about his depth psychological conception of mental phenomena. These include e.g. problems of development and potential mental illnesses. (Entwickelungshemmungen and Erkrankungsgefährdungen) of which the manifestations and consequences can be found in “Rigid Character formation” in normal persons, as well as in group reactions, in the way politicians behave as in the history and fate of nations. (End of quotation)

As Dr. Ringger worked together with Szondi for nearly 30 years I hope that, besides these planned publications, he one day will also write about his work with Szondi, e.g with the title “Thirty years with Szondi”. Such a publication would be an important contribution to the Szondi movement. Dear Hans-Jörg we all wish you “Good Health and Succes with your work”

From SWEDEN.

During the last year Rolf Kenmo, management consultant and the driving power of the Swedish Szondi movement, has continued with the development of his Szondi questionnaire. Just now he has finished a new version of his internet site. The information and functions are both in Swedish and English. One part of the site is information about the services from his company Humankonsult AB. Another part offers production of different profiles based on questionnaires, which all is based on the Szondi theory. The address is:

http://www.humankonsult.se/

The Szondi Association in Sweden has also started with its own Site. The first step is almost finished. The information is mostly in Swedish. The address:

As for my own “European” experiences I can give you the following report:

I was successfully operated in my knee the 15th of Maj. I left for Germany, around the midst of June, where I visited my daughter. I had then nearly no problem at all with my knee and had a nice one-week holiday and took it very easy, just relaxing and reading. My daughter is a wonderful person and I had a very nice time.

She is a thoroughly trained and educated Yoga instructor and. In this connection she informed me about an interesting new trainings course she is following, based on a new way of looking at the organism by Doktor Christian Larsen (Zürich) and Physio therapist Yolande Deswarte (Paris). This new method is called “SPIRAL THERAPY” and the principles are described in his book (German text):

"Die zwölf Grade der Freiheit", Kunst und Wissenschaft menschlischer Bewegungskoordination. (“The twelve degrees of liberation”, the art and science of human movement coordination) - Christian Larsen, Editor: Via Nova, ÒISBN 3-928632-16-7.

Internetadress: www.spiraldynamik.com

My daughter showed me also a new interpretation of the famous “Tibetan book of the Dead”. The title of this new book is:

“The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying”, written by Lama Sogyal Rimpoché. Editor: Harper San Francisco. Having myself arrived at the age in which it might be worthwhile to read such a book I ordered the Spanish translation and hope someday, after having finished my Szondi work, to study Rimpochés vieuwpoints.

---------

The end of June I left Cologne for Spain and decided to participate again at an intensive course in Spanish at the Alicante University during August. During the first two weeks I could really follow the lessons, but then I had to stop following the course. The reason for this was that I had met a young woman student, Mll. Sarah Grieu, who had just finished her studies as a professional translator in French-Spanish-English. She assited me in the correction of some of my Spanish translations.

However this extra Szondi work, together with my Spanish homework, became too much for me. With the fresh memory of my negative reactions when overworking myself, in the beginning of the year, I therefore decided to stop following the course. However I continued to work sometime more with my Spanish Szondi translations. They will gradually be published on the Forum in the next future.

The beginning of August I left Spain and met my wife Gunnel in Cologne and from there drove to the west where we spent ten excellent holidays in the Netherlands. We stayed some days at the North Sea and visited afterwards the North Eastern Parts of the Netherlands, called Friesland, a lake district with many canals and water sport activities. We took the way back to Scandinavia and stayed also one day in Lübeck and Copenhagen.

Here, back in Sweden I have to take it easy as I have lost some of my driving power to work. It seems that I have to start living more and more like a “retired” gentleman, a way of living that is not so easy for me to accept. One part of the day I still work with the Szondi Forum, another part of the day I just take it easy and read Spanish detective stories or look at or listen to one of the 1200 (!) international TV/Radio channels which I can get in by my digital Satellite receiver.

In Sweden the first days of autumn have started already. The weather is very unstable, some days raining and the temperature only around 11 degrees, but other days remind us suddenly again of the summer that is leaving us.

Dear friends from Sweden I send you all my best wishes.
